A Ride Through Kansas History on the Orphan Train

The purpose of Stacey's lesson is to give students an understanding of the “Orphan Train” and how it became a bridge between homelessness and orphanages and the current foster care system in America. Students will examine research information, as well as, both positive/negative aspects of the Orphan Train. Much information and research for this lesson was produced by the National Orphan Train Museum and Research Center located in Concordia, Kansas.
